This new build house in the market town of Ampthill, replaces an existing underused bungalow. The ground floor plan was organised with two principal extensions to the existing dwelling.

A new garage that could be accessed by a large driveway, big enough for 4 cars, and, to the back of the existing building, a 3m extension to the full width of the rear.

A new first floor extension with 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms was built. This part of the extension removed the existing pitched roof from the bungalow and improved outlook and daylight from the neighbouring property.

This building makes a significant and positive contribution to the street. The house features high quality materials and modern design.

Its scale stitches in with the surrounding buildings heights and its form improves levels of natural light to adjacent properties.

The house was finished off with wrap-around glazing frames in the family living room and kitchen, giving views onto the landscaped garden.
