The Blacknest is a contemporary self-build private residence located in Ascot, Berkshire. The client approached Stamford Stone to supply bespoke walling stone and masonry stone to complete the design in keeping with the surroundings.
We created detailed dogtooth walling and finial windows on the drum of the building, supplying 135m³ of architectural masonry stone in total. You’ll find our Ashlar walling stone, heads, cills and finial jambs throughout the build. In the garden, a large volume of our honey-toned, naturally coursed Clipsham Cropped walling stone surrounds the property.
This project strived to conserve and enhance the surrounding environment; a beautiful lakeside surrounded by protected woodland. The detailed finishing on the walling stone and other natural stone features creates a seamless harmony between the client’s home and its location.
