Sutton Lodge Stamford Stone

Sutton Lodge is a beautiful self-build private residence in Sutton, Wansford. The client selected Stamford Stone to be their stone supplier and to create the drawings in line with the architectural plans for the project.

The main external façade was created using Ashlar limestone, with several bespoke features across the building from the cornerstones and window casements to the ornate chimney pots. Ashlar limestone was also used to build the conservatory at the rear of the property, with several individual stone pieces measuring 2m x 40cm x 30cm.

In addition to Sutton Lodge’s impressive exterior, we also supplied hand-crafted Walcott Octagonal flooring, offering a combination of soft, worn octagonal edges and warm neutral tones for the client’s hallway and bespoke Hambleton and Barnack fireplaces. The Tudor arch and decorative mouldings of the Hambleton, alongside the refined detail of the Barnack, bring elegance to the living spaces.

Here’s what the client, Helen Facer, had to say about us: “We chose to work with Stamford Stone primarily because of the excellent quality of their finished stone and the superb product and technical knowledge of their team. The design was obviously important to us, but we also needed guidance on the buildability of the house, which Stamford Stone provided.”
