The Build It Awards, in association with Buildstore, celebrates all aspects of self build and renovation – from the very best completed projects through to innovative products and outstanding service from suppliers.

Build It magazine’s annual awards scheme features over 25 categories, garnering hundreds of entries that cover every major aspect of a home building project.

So you’ll find everything from inspiring architecture and amazing real-life builds through to high-performance structural systems, glazing, heating & renewables, cladding options, smart home technology and more.

Build With Confidence

What sets the Build It Awards apart is they are scrutinised by an expert panel, which includes some of the self build and renovation industry’s leading lights.

Unlike some awards schemes, this isn’t an arbitrary gong or a social media popularity contest. All but one of our categories (for the Best Home) is decided by our expert judging panel.

So, winning or being shortlisted for a Build It Award comes with an expert-backed seal of approval that can give you, the self builder, real confidence when specifying your project.

This year’s Build It Awards winners will be announced at a special ceremony in late November.

Full details of the winning projects, products and services will be published in the following edition of Build It magazine.

Best Home 2022 – Voting Open

The shortlist for the Best Self Build or Renovation Project category is selected by Build It’s editorial team and judging panel. The contenders are then entered into public vote by Build It readers and website users.

The remaining categories are decided by our judging panel, chaired by Build It magazine editor, Chris Bates. The judges scrutinise every entry in detail to create an exceptional shortlist, before ultimately casting their votes to crown individual category winners.
